It is about time to get to know the owner of the kitchen. You simply can call me by my nickname, Tan. I was born and raised in Thailand. I first came to the States in 1998 for my study and now 10 years later I am still in the States. Of course I did finish my master degree long ago and now I am a staying home wife.
Cooking is one of my affections. Growing up with having my grandparents in the family was such a great opportunity for me. I had seen and learned my grandmother’s cooking since I was very young age.
I am also fortunate to have a father who loves cooking. My father used to find his free time on weekends to cook for us and everyone in the family would help him in preparation. It was fun! Because of his busy work schedule, we did even more appreciate dad’s cooking.
I started cooking myself when I was a young teen. I like to try to cook the food that I have tried in the restaurant or from cooking books. I love and enjoy cooking for my parents very much.
Now cooking for me even more necessary as a house wife, I have to cook almost everyday or sometimes many times a day :). After marriage, I have learned many other countries’ cuisines and absolutely I am enjoying cooking them too :).
Because of loving eating and cooking, I would love to try new recipes, share and exchange them! In addition to that I also try to find some alternative ingredients that I could not find here in the States as I am living in a small town, which everything is not available for me! or sometimes I do not have some certain ingredients at home, so I have to try to come up with some things alike.
